Calling all sewers: If you are a sewing enthusiast that likes to add your own style to projects, the American Sewing Expo wants you to put on your creative hat, let your imagination go wild and enter our 5th Annual ASE Passion For Fashion! design challenge. This is a live challenge that will provide the opportunity for avid sewers to showcase their sewing and design talents complete with professional models and fashion show. The participant will be given a design challenge scenario and have all day Friday, September 23, to create their "secret project". Expo attendees will have the opportunity to follow the progress of the designers as they work on their creations. Contestants return on Saturday, September 24 to finish their creations and a last minute fitting on their professional model before the fashion show and photo shoot in the afternoon. A panel of industry fashion experts will judge and choose the challenge winner based on creativity, construction, fit, and composition.

We encourage sewers of all skill levels to challenge their creativity and participate in this event.

Second Place - Baby Lock Imagine DX Serger
Third Place - Baby Lock Melody Sewing Machine

Deadline to enter is July 1, 2011.

Submissions must be accompanied by a $25.00 non-refundable jury fee and 1 fashion garment (no more than a 3-piece outfit) that has been created within the past two years. Fashion garment will be returned.

Show Your Support Bra Challenge

Join the American Sewing Expo, Coats & Clark, and BurdaStyle this year in the Show Your Support Bra Challenge.
Pick up a new bra and use your creative juices to decorate it how you see best: fun, serious, themed, abstract – just about anything will do. All entries will be accepted with a $5 entry fee. All proceeds will be given to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. Online voting will determine winners, and all bras will be
on display at the show.
