Calling all sewers: If you are a sewing enthusiast that likes to add your own style to projects, the American Sewing Expo wants you to put on your creative hat, let your imagination go wild and enter our 3rd Annual ASE Passion For Fashion! design challenge. This is a live challenge that will provide the opportunity for avid sewers to showcase their sewing and design talents complete with professional models and fashion show. The participant will be given a design challenge scenario and have all day Friday, September 25, to create their "secret project". Expo attendees will have the opportunity to follow the progress of the designers as they work on their creations. Contestants return on Saturday, September 26 to finish their creations and a last minute fitting on their professional model before the fashion show and photo shoot in the afternoon. A panel of industry fashion experts will judge and choose the challenge winner based on creativity, construction, fit, and composition.

We encourage sewers of all skill levels to challenge their creativity and participate in this event.

Deadline to enter is July 1, 2009.

Submissions must be accompanied by a $25.00 non-refundable jury fee and 1 fashion garment (no more than a 3-piece outfit) that has been created within the past two years. Fashion garment will be returned.

Pattern Review Top Ten Challenge

A contest for all people who love to sew fashion and want to make a garment from any of the Top Ten Patterns reviewed on PatternReview.com

Every year Pattern Review develops a list of the top ten patterns that have the best reviews from the members of the Pattern Review online community.

To enter this fashion sewing challenge follow these steps:

• Choose one of the 10 patterns for your entry garment.
• For rules and application go to http://sewing.patternreview.com/top10contest
• Deadline for entries is August 15, 2009.
• A runway fashion show of finalists will take place at the American Sewing Expo on Saturday September 26, 2009.

Our very popular and inspiring contest for young sewers ages 8 - 18 is presented on the Fashion Stage at the show. These young people amaze and delight attendees with their skills and creativity!

Dream Sewing Room - The Contest Anyone Can Win!

Everyone arriving by 12:00 noon on Sunday, September 27 will have the opportunity to win a Dream Sewing Room!

The Grand prize will include merchandise from Bernina and many more.

When you arrive, you will be given 10 entry tickets. Fill them out, find the 10 American Sewing Expo boxes as they are noted on each ticket. Drawing for all prizes will take place at 5:00 p.m. You absolutely must be present to win! Prizes will be awarded from each individual box, followed by one Grand prize winner from all boxes combined!
